Setup & Imports Overview

Import methods, first-import order, data ownership, and verification.

Import method

Madden leagues currently import through EA Connect. Authorize the EA account that can access the franchise, select the console and franchise, then start imports from Administration → Import Center.

The Madden Companion App has not been released yet, so the Companion workflow cannot be used. Nothing is wrong with the NeonSportz league.

What must exist first

Before the first import:

  1. The NeonSportz Madden service is activated.
  2. The league is connected to the correct Discord server.
  3. Name, abbreviation, console, and Madden franchise are correct.
  4. The acting user has Edit League/Admin permission.
  5. Complete EA Direct Connect.

Initial import order

Use this order because later data references records created by earlier imports:

  1. League Info — identifies the franchise, current season, stage, week, and league context.
  2. League Teams and Standings — creates or updates teams and standings.
  3. Schedules — creates games for the selected season and stage.
  4. Rosters — creates players and updates ratings, contracts, injuries, depth charts, and team assignments.
  5. Free Agents — updates the unrostered player pool.
  6. Statistics — imports played-game team and player statistics.

If a method combines some steps, still run League Info first.

After the initial import

Verify:

  • The league header shows the expected season, stage, and week.
  • All teams exist and have the correct abbreviations.
  • A team roster contains players.
  • The Games page contains the expected schedule.
  • Standings match Madden.
  • At least one completed game contains team and player statistics when applicable.

Do not configure downstream alerts until the baseline is correct.

What imports can change

Depending on the import:

  • League season, stage, week, advance state, and franchise identity.
  • Teams, standings, schedules, scores, and simulated status.
  • Players, team assignments, ratings, traits, abilities, development, injuries, contracts, and depth charts.
  • Free agents and team transactions.
  • Player and team statistics, records, awards, draft information, and advanced metrics.
  • Discord change notifications when a later import differs from the stored baseline.

An import never changes the Madden franchise. NeonSportz is the receiving system.

Choose the smallest import

  • Week advanced: import League Info, Schedule, then the new week’s Statistics as games finish.
  • Trade/signing/release: import affected Rosters and Free Agents.
  • Rating, contract, injury, ability, position, or depth-chart change: import affected Rosters.
  • Missing games: import Schedules.
  • Incorrect game or season totals: import the relevant weekly statistics or queue All Stats.
  • Broad historical rebuild: use All Stats only after verifying the season and queue.

Detailed tutorials

Never solve an import problem by guessing

Before resetting data or starting a second full import, record the selected season/stage/week, status shown in Import Center, and the page where data is wrong. Targeted re-imports are safer than resets.
