CFB Game Channels & Threads

Create/delete manually scheduled CFB matchup spaces and fix assignments.

Before CFB game spaces

  1. Set the correct season/week in CFB Game Administration.
  2. Enter every game manually.
  3. Confirm public Games.
  4. Approve members and assign teams.
  5. Configure default Discord game-space message.
  6. Verify bot permissions.

Create CFB channels

Use /cfbchannels create-games.

  1. Type the command.
  2. Fill required naming, privacy, role, and other options shown by Discord.
  3. Supply dynasty abbreviation when needed.
  4. Choose the intended week.
  5. Review.
  6. Send once.
  7. Inspect the category/channels and private access.

Requires Manage Channels.

Delete CFB channels

Use /cfbchannels delete-games.

  1. Select the exact category. This command has no week option.
  2. Confirm category deletion behavior.
  3. Send once.
  4. Verify only intended content was removed.

Deletion matches names containing -vs-, ending in -byes, or equal to byes inside the selected category, regardless of dynasty or week. Keep unrelated channels out of that category.

The CFB command set has no update-games command. Manage changed matchups by correcting data and recreating/adjusting spaces carefully.

Create CFB threads

Use /cfbthreads create-games from the intended parent channel.

  1. Confirm thread permissions.
  2. Enter naming pattern.
  3. Complete optional privacy/role/week/message settings.
  4. Send.
  5. Verify participants.

Requires Manage Threads.

Long thread names are shortened to fit Discord’s limit. The week remains at the start of the name; the full matchup is available in the thread’s game details.

Delete CFB threads

Run /cfbthreads delete-games in the parent text channel that owns the threads. Omitting week uses the dynasty’s selected week, matching creation. The command only targets active threads for that dynasty, season, and exact week; Week 1 does not include Weeks 10–19. New names always include the dynasty and game identity. Keep the identifying portion unchanged.

Older threads without that identity are skipped, as are unrelated threads. Manage older or archived threads individually in Discord. The result reports successful, failed, and skipped deletions. Channel deletion also reports failures and keeps the category if a deletion failed or unrelated channels remain.

CFB-specific troubleshooting

  • No matchups: enter games manually for that week.
  • Wrong record/team name: correct CFB Teams/Game Administration.
  • Member missing: correct CFB team assignment.
  • Changed matchup: edit the game, then adjust/recreate the affected Discord space.
  • Wrong default message/timezone: edit CFB Administration → Discord.

Postseason periods

CFB schedule output uses named postseason periods. For an optional week argument, use 16 for Conference Championship Week, 17–19 for Bowl Weeks 1–3, or 20 for Bowl Week 4 — National Championship. 0–14 are regular weeks and 15 remains legacy Week 15. Commands default to the dynasty’s selected season/week.
