Accounts & Mobile Overview

A map of profiles, records, history, notifications, and mobile behavior.

Account feature map

NeonSportz accounts use Discord identity. There is no separate NeonSportz password to remember or reset.

Use the focused tutorials below:

What follows your Discord account

Your NeonSportz identity can include:

  • Discord ID, username, avatar, banner, and Discord account creation date.
  • X, Twitch, and YouTube connections exposed by Discord.
  • Xbox and PlayStation names exposed by Discord.
  • Madden leagues and CFB dynasties you joined or requested to join.
  • Assigned teams and NeonSportz permission bits.
  • Madden user record, head-to-head results, and recorded league history.
  • Site notifications and, on supported mobile devices, a push-notification registration.

Changing a value in Discord does not always update an already-open NeonSportz session. Sign out and back in to refresh Discord-owned profile data.

Website and mobile use the same account

The mobile app and website use the same NeonSportz user, memberships, and permissions. A commissioner action taken on mobile changes the same live service used by the website and bot.

Mobile uses a compact navigation pattern. Some large tables and administration forms are easier on a desktop, but access rules and stored data are the same.

Documentation is not part of the mobile app. Guides, release notes, and the API reference live on the website at neonsportz.com/docs; links to them from inside the app open a browser.

Keeping the mobile app up to date

The App Store and Google Play versions ship the same features as the website, but the app only gets them when it updates. Automatic updates are on by default on both platforms; if you turned them off, update NeonSportz from its store listing.

On launch the app checks which versions the site still supports:

  • A newer version exists. A banner appears at the top of the app with an Update link to your store. Everything keeps working.
  • Your version is no longer supported. The app shows a full-screen Update NeonSportz screen linking to your store, and nothing else is reachable until you update. A build that old can no longer be relied on to read the site’s data correctly.

That screen names the version you have installed and the version required. The website is never out of date this way; it always loads the current version.

If the mobile app will not load

Loading can stall because of a connection problem, an expired session, or saved data on the device. Check your connection and try restarting first. If your session has expired, sign in again with Discord.

The app now tries to recover on its own, whether it never finished starting or started and then stalled on a spinner later. If it still cannot get past a loading spinner after about half a minute, it replaces the screen with three options:

  • Clear app data and restart — removes the cache, cookies, and stored database the app keeps on this device, then restarts it. This is what deleting and reinstalling the app does, without the reinstall.
  • Try again — restarts the app without clearing anything.
  • Check for an app update — opens your store listing.

Clearing app data signs you out and is otherwise safe: leagues, dynasties, profiles, and settings live on the server, not on your device. Sign back in with Discord afterwards.

You do not have to wait for a failure to use it. The same control is in Account Settings → App → Clear app data, which also shows the app version you have installed — include that version in any support ticket about the app.

A request that never gets an answer no longer leaves a page spinning indefinitely. The app gives the server a minute, then reports that it could not be reached, so a stalled connection shows an error you can act on instead of a spinner that never stops.

On a Mac

The Mac app is the iPhone/iPad app running on macOS, so everything above applies to it. It is worth knowing that macOS keeps the app running when you close its window: reopening does not restart it, and a problem that a restart would fix can survive what looks like closing and reopening. Quit it fully (NeonSportz → Quit, or ⌘Q) and open it again. Check for an app update on the recovery screen opens the App Store, not Google Play.

Ads in the mobile app

The mobile app shows the same ads the website does, in the same places: inside the page itself, between sections and tables, where they scroll with the rest of the content. The pages that carry them are the pages that carry them on the website:

  • League pages and dynasty pages, including every tab inside them and their Administration screens.
  • The home page, the Leagues list, and the Leaderboard.

Ads are absent from sign-in, your profile, Account Settings, and the dynasty directory. Nothing is pinned to the edge of the screen, and nothing covers the bottom navigation bar.

The first time you open the app you are asked how your data may be used for advertising. On iOS you may also see Apple’s tracking permission prompt. Declining either one does not restrict any feature of the app — ads simply become less specific to you.

To change your answer later, open Account Settings → Ad privacy choices and choose Manage. That row appears only where the choice applies to you; if you do not see it, no consent is required in your region. Your new choice takes effect the next time an ad loads.

If ads are missing, open Account Settings and tap the app version seven times to reveal Ad diagnostics. Share the loader status, gate reason and last slot status with support. A loader failure or timeout points to a connection or script-loading problem; unfilled means the ad service did not supply an ad. A slow connection is given up to 30 seconds to load the advertising script before the slots close. Advertising startup does not change your current page when you leave and return to the app.

What is collected, and how to reset your device’s advertising identifier, is described in the privacy policy.

Common account mistakes

  • Wrong profile appears: sign out of NeonSportz and Discord, then sign in to the intended Discord account.
  • League is missing: confirm that the commissioner approved the same Discord account and did not only invite you to the Discord server.
  • Social link is missing: connect it in Discord, then sign out and back in to NeonSportz.
  • Administration menu is missing: membership alone is not enough; the commissioner must grant the appropriate NeonSportz permission.
  • Push notifications stopped: review Website and Mobile Notifications.
  • App stays on the loading screen: check your connection and choose Try again on the recovery screen. If it continues, use Clear app data and restart; this signs you out.
  • App says it must be updated: update NeonSportz from the App Store or Google Play; the version you have is older than the site supports.

Recruiting profiles

Open Recruiting profiles from your account menu, profile, Account Settings, or the Madden/CFB recruiting pages. Any signed-in user can edit their own profile. Profiles start hidden. Enable Let commissioners find my recruiting profile and save to opt in; turn it off and save to remove yourself from discovery.

Your description is optional plain text, limited to 500 characters. HTML and scripts display as text, never as interactive content. Do not include private contact information. The description is not automatically moderated or verified; site conduct rules apply, and inappropriate profiles can be reported through Support. Hiding a profile prevents future discovery; it cannot recall information someone already viewed.

Choose one value per preference, or No preference to clear it:

  • Console: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or Switch 2.
  • Skill level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.
  • Advance time: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or over 72 hours.
  • Game style: Competitive or Simulation.

Clear description and preferences resets those fields while keeping your visibility choice. Click Save recruiting profile to apply any changes, including clearing fields or hiding your profile. These choices describe your recruiting preferences; they do not change your Discord profile or linked accounts.

Commissioner discovery

Only league/dynasty owners and joined members with Edit League or Edit Dynasty permission can use Find recruits. Being signed in, requesting membership, or having only trade permissions does not grant search access.

Choose filters and click Search profiles. All selected filters must match; a profile with an unset preference never matches an active filter for that field. Any removes that filter and includes profiles with unset preferences. Results are paginated, ten per page, and contain only a recruiting-profile identifier, username, description and preferences. Email addresses, Discord IDs, tokens, linked accounts and membership history are not included. Hidden profiles and inactive accounts are excluded. Recruiting requests are limited to 60 per minute per signed-in user; wait a minute and retry if you reach the limit.
