Create & Connect a League

Create the Madden service, connect Discord, and prepare the initial import.

Who can do this

Use the Discord account that owns or administers the destination Discord server and owns or can activate the purchased NeonSportz service.

Before you start

Have ready:

  • The exact Madden franchise name.
  • A unique NeonSportz abbreviation of no more than five uppercase letters or numbers.
  • The correct console/platform selection.
  • The destination Discord server.
  • The NeonSportz bot installed in that server.

The abbreviation becomes part of URLs and import configuration. Choose a stable value.

Create the league

  1. Sign in to NeonSportz with Discord.
  2. Open Connect Your League.
  3. Find the purchased Madden service.
  4. Choose Connect next to the correct Discord server. If needed, choose Invite, authorize the bot, return, and select Refresh.
  5. Enter the league name. Use only letters, numbers, and spaces.
  6. Enter an unused abbreviation using uppercase letters and numbers.
  7. Select the correct console.
  8. Complete creation.
  9. Open the new league and verify its header and URL.

If creation says the name or abbreviation already exists, choose a genuinely different value rather than changing capitalization only.

Connect Discord

The selected Discord server is used to resolve slash commands, list available Discord channels and roles, send notifications, and create game spaces.

After creation:

  1. Open Administration → Discord.
  2. Confirm Discord channels load.
  3. Select an error channel first.
  4. Use an available Test action.
  5. If the channel list is empty, review Discord Installation and Permissions.

Choose an import method

Companion App

Best when you already use the Madden Companion App export workflow. Copy the Export URL from Administration → Settings or Administration → Import Status and follow Companion App Imports.

Direct EA connection

Best when your EA account can access the franchise and you want to trigger supported imports from NeonSportz. Follow EA Direct Connect.

Complete the first import

  1. Import League Info.
  2. Import teams/standings.
  3. Import schedules.
  4. Import rosters.
  5. Import free agents.
  6. Import statistics.
  7. Compare NeonSportz with the franchise before inviting members.

Invite members

Copy the Invite URL from Administration → Settings or share the league page. A Discord server invitation and a NeonSportz league invitation are different: joining Discord does not automatically create an approved league membership.

Common setup errors

  • Wrong Discord server: use the transfer workflow; do not delete the service merely to reconnect it.
  • Wrong console or abbreviation: correct League Settings before configuring Companion exports.
  • No bot: use Connect Your League to invite it, then refresh.
  • League exists but is empty: the service was created successfully; data still needs an import.
  • Friend cannot administer: approve them as a member and grant Edit League/Admin under Members.
