Three Discord integrations

1. Slash commands: users request league/dynasty information or actions.
2. Notifications: NeonSportz posts event messages into configured channels.
3. Game spaces: commands create/update/delete weekly matchup channels or threads.

Each has separate Discord permissions and troubleshooting.

Server association

A NeonSportz league or dynasty is connected to one Discord server identity. Most commands infer the service from that server. When multiple relevant services exist or inference is ambiguous, use the optional abbreviation.

First setup checklist

1. Invite the bot.
2. Confirm it appears in the server.
3. Configure application-command access.
4. Give the bot only the permissions required for intended features.
5. Configure an error channel.
6. Test notification channels.
7. Run a read-only command such as /league or /dynasty.
8. Test game spaces only after schedules and assignments are ready.

Discord and NeonSportz permissions are different

• Discord permissions control server/channel actions.
• NeonSportz permission bits control league/dynasty administration and trade actions.

A Discord Administrator is not automatically a NeonSportz league admin, and a NeonSportz league admin may still lack Discord Manage Channels.
