Discord Login & Account Sync

How sign-in works

NeonSportz uses Discord OAuth. Discord confirms your identity, then NeonSportz creates or refreshes your account and signs you in. NeonSportz does not store a separate user password.

Sign in on the website

1. Select Login in the top navigation.
2. Read the verified-email requirement.
3. Select My Discord Email Is Verified — Continue.
4. On Discord’s authorization page, confirm the displayed Discord account.
5. If it is wrong, switch accounts in Discord before authorizing.
6. Authorize NeonSportz and wait for the browser to return.

Discord must provide both an email and verified: true. NeonSportz does not bypass this requirement.

Discord email is not verified

If NeonSportz shows Your Discord email is not verified:

1. Open Discord.
2. Open User Settings → My Account.
3. Select Verify Email and finish the email verification.
4. Return to NeonSportz.
5. Select I Verified My Email — Try Again.

The page keeps this recovery visible instead of redirecting home or showing only a temporary message.

The login action is disabled while the request is running.

Sign in on mobile

The mobile app uses a Discord authorization challenge designed for the app flow.

1. Start login from inside the NeonSportz app.
2. Complete authorization in the browser or Discord view that opens.
3. Return to NeonSportz when prompted.
4. Allow the app to finish loading your profile before navigating away.

If the app returns to the login screen, close the authorization view, confirm network access, and try once more.

Refresh Discord-owned profile data

Username, avatar, banner, connected socials, and console names originate from Discord.

1. Make the change in Discord.
2. Sign out of NeonSportz.
3. Close any old NeonSportz tabs that remain signed in.
4. Sign back in with Discord.
5. Open Profile → Settings and confirm the refreshed value.

NeonSportz Account Settings displays these values but does not edit them directly.

Switch Discord accounts

1. Sign out of NeonSportz.
2. Sign out of Discord in the same browser, or switch to the intended Discord account.
3. Start NeonSportz login again.
4. Read the Discord account name on the authorization screen.
5. Continue only when it is correct.

Each Discord ID maps to a different NeonSportz account. Memberships do not move automatically between Discord accounts.

Login troubleshooting

Authorization never returns

• Allow pop-ups and redirects for NeonSportz and Discord.
• Temporarily disable a browser extension that blocks OAuth redirects.
• Make sure cookies are allowed for both sites.
• Retry in the same browser rather than copying a partial callback URL.

Signed in but service is missing

• Confirm the commissioner approved this exact Discord account.
• Confirm the join request is not still pending.
• Confirm you were not removed from the service.
• Ask the commissioner to inspect Administration → Members, not only the Discord member list.

Login loop

1. Select Reconnect Discord on the failed screen.
2. Sign in with one Discord account.
3. Let NeonSportz return to the original page automatically.
4. If the same failure remains after retrying, use the Discord ticket instructions. Never send tokens or callback addresses.

Session expiration

NeonSportz uses short-lived access credentials with a refresh flow. On activation and server-transfer screens, Reconnect Discord preserves the safe return route while starting a fresh sign-in. Unsaved work elsewhere may be lost, so save long news or rules edits regularly.
