CFB Commands

Dynasty, team, game, channel, and thread commands.

/dynasty

Everyone

Shows the connected dynasty's information.

Before you run it
  • Run it in the Discord server connected to the intended NeonSportz service.
  • No special command permission is required, but Discord must allow you to use application commands in the channel.
  • Confirm the bot can resolve the intended league or dynasty.
Step by step
  1. Type /dynasty and select the command Discord suggests.
  2. Add `abbreviation` only when you want to override the current/default behavior.
  3. Review the completed command, then send it once and wait for the response.
  4. Review the bot response and use its pagination controls when more results are available.

/cfbjoin

Everyone

Submits a request to join a dynasty.

  • No special command permission is required, but Discord must allow you to use application commands in the channel.
  • Confirm the dynasty, teams, current week, and relevant manually entered data exist on NeonSportz.
Step by step
  1. Type /cfbjoin and select the command Discord suggests.
  2. Add `abbreviation` only when you want to override the current/default behavior.
  3. Review the completed command, then send it once and wait for the response.
  4. Look for the confirmation, then wait for a commissioner to approve the request and assign a team.

  • Confirm the dynasty, teams, current week, and relevant manually entered data exist on NeonSportz.

  1. Type /cfbbump and select the command Discord suggests.
  2. Add `abbreviation` only when you want to override the current/default behavior.
  3. Review the completed command, then send it once and wait for the response.
  4. Open the public recruitment listing and confirm its bump time/status changed.

Manage Channels

Creates one Discord channel for each CFB game in a week.

  • Confirm the selected week has a complete schedule and every participating member has the correct team assignment.
  • Inspect existing game spaces before creating or deleting anything.
Step by step
  1. Type /cfbchannels create-games and select the command Discord suggests.
  2. Fill the required `channel_name`, `private`, `role` options.
  3. Add `category`, `message`, `bye_week`, `week`, `abbreviation` only when you want to override the current/default behavior.
  4. Review the completed command, then send it once and wait for the response.
  5. Inspect every created channel/thread, matchup name, member, role, privacy setting, and default message.

/cfbchannels delete-games

Manage Channels

Deletes CFB matchup channels from a category.

Before you run it
  • Run it in the Discord server connected to the intended NeonSportz service.
  • Confirm the acting user has this access: Manage Channels.
  • Confirm the selected week has a complete schedule and every participating member has the correct team assignment.
  • Inspect existing game spaces before creating or deleting anything.
Step by step
  1. Type /cfbchannels delete-games and select the command Discord suggests.
  2. Fill the required `category`, `delete_category` options.
  3. Review the completed command, then send it once and wait for the response.
  4. Confirm only the intended week’s Discord spaces were removed.

/cfbthreads create-games

Manage Threads

Creates one Discord thread for each CFB game in a week.

Before you run it
  • Run it in the Discord server connected to the intended NeonSportz service.
  • Confirm the acting user has this access: Manage Threads.
  • Confirm the selected week has a complete schedule and every participating member has the correct team assignment.
  • Inspect existing game spaces before creating or deleting anything.
Step by step
  1. Type /cfbthreads create-games and select the command Discord suggests.
  2. Fill the required `thread_name` option.
  3. Add `private`, `role`, `message`, `bye_week`, `week`, `abbreviation` only when you want to override the current/default behavior.
  4. Review the completed command, then send it once and wait for the response.
  5. Inspect every created channel/thread, matchup name, member, role, privacy setting, and default message.
