EA Direct Connect
Authorize EA, select a persona and franchise, import, refresh, or unlink.
What EA Direct Connect does
EA Direct Connect lets a league administrator sign in to EA, choose the Xbox, PlayStation, or PC platform that can access the franchise, and import Madden data without the Companion App.
The EA connection is unofficial. Read the acknowledgement on the EA Connect screen and use the full Terms link if you need more detail.
Before you connect
- Open NeonSportz in a normal web browser, not the mobile app.
- Sign in as a league owner or administrator.
- Renew the league first if it belongs to an older Madden title.
- Use the EA account connected to the Xbox or PlayStation profile, or the EA account used on PC, that can open the franchise.
- If you are unsure which platform account EA has, check EA’s Connected Accounts guidance.
1. Open EA
Open Administration → EA Connect and select Open EA Login.
If the new tab does not open, select Try Again. You can also use Open in This Tab. Complete the EA sign-in and authorization in that tab.
2. The blank page is correct
After EA signs you in, the browser goes to an address beginning with http://127.0.0.1.
The page may be blank or say connection refused, site unavailable, or this site can’t be reached. That is expected. The browser address is the result NeonSportz needs; the page itself does not need to load.
Do not close the tab until you copy the complete address from the address bar. It should include 127.0.0.1 and code=.
3. Paste the address
Return to NeonSportz. The address field is focused automatically.
- Select Paste Address, or paste the complete address yourself.
- Make sure the value contains
127.0.0.1andcode=. Some browsers, iPhone Safari in particular, leave thehttp://off when you copy from the address bar. That is fine — NeonSportz recognises the address either way. - Continue.
NeonSportz rejects partial and unrelated addresses before sending anything to the server. Never post this address or its authorization value in Discord.
4. Choose the console
One EA account can have more than one console linked to it. Step 2 lists one entry per console EA reports Madden access for, labelled with the platform and the sign-in it belongs to — for example Xbox Series X|S · XBOX or PlayStation 5 · PSN.
Choose the console you actually play the franchise on. PC appears with the EA Account sign-in label when EA reports a matching entitlement. When EA returns only one choice, NeonSportz selects it automatically.
Two things are worth knowing before you pick:
- The list comes from EA, not from NeonSportz. Only consoles linked to the signed-in EA account appear.
- The list is built from the Madden 27 licences EA reports for the account. A console you only played an earlier Madden on does not appear, and neither does one that is linked but has no Madden 27 on it.
5. Choose the franchise
Confirm the franchise name and select Connect This Franchise. When the connection finishes, select Import My League to open the Import Center.
If your console is missing from the list
The list is built from the Madden licences EA reports for the account you signed in with. A console appears because that EA account owns Madden on it — linking the console is a separate thing and is not enough on its own. A console that is correctly linked will still be missing if the game was bought on a different EA account.
- Open the current Madden on the missing console and check which EA account the game itself is signed in to. That is the account to use, and it is often not the one you use on the web.
- If it is a different account, start a new EA login and sign in as that one.
- Check which accounts are linked on EA’s Connected Accounts page if the console is not linked anywhere yet.
- If you own Madden on two consoles and only one appears, the missing console’s copy is on a different EA account.
If NeonSportz says the EA account does not own Madden
EA answered normally and reported that it has no Madden on the account you signed in with. This is worth reading carefully, because the usual cause is not that you failed to buy the game.
Owning the game and having an EA entitlement are two different things. Buying Madden gives you a licence in whichever store you bought it from. Separately, EA records an entitlement on your EA account, and that entitlement is what this page reads — it is the only thing EA will tell us about. EA creates it when the game is installed and launched on that platform under that EA account.
The usual fix: install and launch the current Madden
Install the current Madden on the platform you are connecting, and launch it once while online. You do not need to play it — reaching the main menu is enough to make EA create the record. Then retry EA Connect.
Buying a copy is not what creates the entitlement; running the game on that platform is. So a copy that was bought but never installed, or installed on a different console to the one you are connecting, leaves EA with nothing to report even though you own it. The error message on the page always names the exact game to install, so trust that over this paragraph if the two ever disagree.
Earlier Madden titles do not help here. EA files this record under the current game only, so owning last year’s Madden on the platform does nothing for the connection.
If that does not fix it
- Check you are on the right EA account. On console, the account that matters is the one linked to your PlayStation or Xbox, which is often not the one you sign in with on the web. Open Madden on that console and see which EA account the game itself is signed in to — that is the one to use.
- Check the platform. Install and launch on the console or PC whose franchise you actually want to import. Doing it on a different console you also own will not help.
- On PC, check where you bought it. If it came from Steam or Epic rather than the EA app, that store account has to be linked to your EA account. See EA’s Connected Accounts page.
- If you play through EA Play or EA Play Pro, your access is tied to the subscription. NeonSportz accepts subscription access the same as a bought copy, but if the subscription has lapsed or been cancelled, EA removes the entitlement with it — even if the game is still installed. Either resubscribe or buy the game outright, then launch it once.
If none of that works
The error card shows a correlation ID. Send it to support along with which platform you play on and where you bought the game — it lets us look up exactly what EA said about your account, which is far quicker than guessing.
“This EA account has Madden rewards, not the game”
EA listed the Madden loyalty rewards program on the account and nothing else. EA grants that entitlement for having played a previous Madden — a rental or a friend’s copy counts, and it carries across consoles — so it appears on accounts that own no Madden at all.
Loyalty rewards are not the game. An EA Play hours trial or Ultimate Team access will not work either — but a bought copy or an active EA Play Pro subscription both do. If you have either of those, work through the steps above: most often the current Madden simply has not been installed and launched on the platform you are connecting.
If no console appears at all
The signed-in EA account does not expose a matching Madden persona.
- Check the Xbox or PlayStation account connected to EA.
- Start a new EA login.
- Sign in with the EA account that owns or can access the correct platform profile.
If NeonSportz says that console cannot open Madden
You chose a console EA will not open the current Madden on — usually the console you played the previous Madden on. Select Choose EA Account Again and pick the console you play this year’s game on.
If that console is not in the list, see “If your console is missing from the list” above.
“That console has a different year’s Madden”
EA said specifically that the account owns a Madden on that console, but not the current one. Owning an earlier year’s Madden there does not let a current franchise be connected from it.
This is common when you have changed console between titles — for example last year’s Madden on PlayStation and this year’s on Xbox. If the console you play this year’s game on is not offered, that copy is on a different EA account: see “If your console is missing from the list” above.
If you own the current game on that console, install and launch it there once while online so EA has a record of it, then retry — see “The usual fix: install and launch the current Madden” above.
If NeonSportz says EA is not accepting Madden connections
This one is not about your EA account, your console or your franchise. EA has shut NeonSportz out of Madden entirely, and every league on the site is failing at the same moment.
EA does this when the Madden Companion App rolls over to a new title: the app switches to the new year’s EA credentials, and the previous year’s — which NeonSportz connects with — stop being accepted for the current game. It happens without warning, on EA’s schedule, and it takes the whole integration down at once.
There is nothing to do on your end. Reconnecting, choosing a different profile and retrying will all return the same answer, which is why the error offers no Try Again. NeonSportz has to be updated to match EA’s new credentials, and importing resumes for every league once that ships — you will not need to reconnect.
If no franchise appears
Open the franchise in the current Madden game with the selected profile, then return and start a new EA login. Also confirm you picked the right console: a console with the game but no franchise on it returns an empty list. EA account linking limits can affect which platform profile is visible, so review EA’s Connected Accounts page before unlinking anything.
EA errors
An error card identifies the failed step, says whether the response came from EA, gives one recovery action, and includes a safe correlation ID. Authorization addresses and EA tokens are never shown in the error.
Use the recovery button once and verify the result. If the same error remains, use the Discord support instructions shown on the page.
Unlink EA
Administration → EA Connect → Unlink EA Account is available at any point on the page, including before a connection has been completed and while the connection appears broken. Use it when the wrong EA account or franchise was selected, when you intentionally need a fresh connection, or to start the steps over.
Unlinking clears the stored EA connection and returns the page to step 1. It does not delete leagues, rosters or statistics already imported into NeonSportz.
Unlinking works in the mobile app as well, although the EA login itself still has to be completed in a web browser.
