EA Direct Connect

Authorize EA, select a persona and franchise, import, refresh, or unlink.

What EA Direct Connect does

EA Direct Connect lets an authorized commissioner connect an EA account, choose an EA persona and accessible franchise, then start supported imports from NeonSportz.

The connection is stored for the league. Treat the authorization flow as sensitive.

Before you connect

  • Use an EA account that can access the intended online franchise.
  • Confirm the NeonSportz league console.
  • Sign into NeonSportz with Edit League/Admin permission.
  • Close unrelated EA login sessions if they might select the wrong account.
  • Make sure the browser allows redirects.

Connect step by step

  1. Open the Madden league.
  2. Go to Administration → EA Connect.
  3. Read the connection notice.
  4. Select Connect with EA.
  5. Read and accept the warning with I Understand & Accept.
  6. Choose Continue to EA Login.
  7. Complete EA authorization.
  8. After EA redirects, copy the full authorization URL or the code requested by NeonSportz.
  9. Return to NeonSportz.
  10. Paste it into Paste EA Authorization URL or Code.
  11. Select Submit Code.

Do not send the pasted authorization value to another person.

Select an EA persona

  1. Wait for the Select Persona step to load.
  2. Review Display Name and platform information.
  3. Select the persona that can see the franchise.
  4. Choose Continue.

If no persona appears, verify the EA account, platform, and franchise access.

Select the franchise

  1. Review the leagues returned by EA.
  2. Match the league name and your team.
  3. Select the correct row.
  4. Choose Connect League.
  5. Wait for the Success step.
  6. Choose Go to Import Status.

Selecting the wrong franchise imports the wrong data. Unlink and reconnect before running imports if there is any doubt.

Start direct imports

On Administration → Import Status:

  1. Start Import League Info.
  2. Wait for it to complete and refresh.
  3. Start Import Rosters.
  4. Start Import Schedules.
  5. Queue Import All Stats only when needed.

Buttons can be temporarily unavailable during throttles, cooldowns, or an active queue job.

Use Administration → EA Connect → Unlink EA Account when:

  • The wrong EA account or franchise was selected.
  • The commissioner responsible for the connection is changing.
  • Authorization cannot be refreshed.
  • You intentionally return to Companion App-only imports.

Unlinking does not delete data already imported into NeonSportz.

Connection troubleshooting

  • EA login page fails: retry without a redirect-blocking extension.
  • Code rejected: start a fresh connection flow; do not reuse an old code.
  • No personas: confirm the EA account owns or can access a matching platform persona.
  • No leagues: open the franchise in Madden/EA first and confirm the selected persona.
  • Connection expired: revisit EA Connect and renew the authorization.
  • Wrong league connected: unlink immediately, reconnect, and verify before importing.
